Guernsey Clematis Nursery

Nelly Moser

Category: Our Clematis

Raised by Moser in France in 1897, probably the second most famous clematis name after cl. x jackmanii. A plant that has proved its worth, always performing well. Its biggest disadvantage is that it fades badly in strong sunlight. However it does very well in full shade. The cartwheel-like blossoms have pale mauve tepals with a deeper lilac central bar which are pointed. The 15-18cm (6-7in) wide flowers have dark red anthers. Ideal for container culture, suitable as a cut flower, attractive seed heads.  RHS Award of Garden Merit
